Professional Development Policy
All Adult Ed. Staff are required to complete twelve hours of
including but not limited to:
Trainings and/or conferences (hours associated) relate to the program area(s);
Professional development (hours associated) provided internally through their
own agency or partner agency and/or by the RAEN;
Professional development (hours associated) to support technology initiatives
to address the staff development needs identified in the Technology Integration
Self-Assessment and the Instructional Technology Survey.
The Long Island Regional Adult Education Network (LI-RAEN) provides technical
assistance and professional development to adult literacy, occupational and
continuing education programs funded by the New York State Education
Department (NYSED). The LI-RAEN is one of seven Regional Adult Education
Networks funded by the NYSED through federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA),
Title II Section 223 funding.
